c/o pop

c/o pop has been taking place annually in Cologne since 2004, forming a link between pop culture and business. The programme of the six-day festival is dedicated to contemporary pop culture in all its variety. In contrast to many other festivals, c/o pop involves the entire city in its programme, integrating unusual locations and turning them into exciting new venues every year.
Around 30,000 visitors are expected in 2010. The programme which awaits them includes major concerts by artists including Booka Shade, Shantel, Robyn and Bugge Wesseltoft & Henrik Schwarz in the Philharmonic Hall, and Phoenix on the parking deck of Cologne’s exhibition centre Koelnmesse. It also features a broad spectrum of parties, young talent showcases and fashion events. Taking place parallel to this will be the international business forum C'n'B - Creative Business Convention, whose aim in 2010 is to link up the various sectors of the creative industry by creating functioning networks between them. In 2009, c/o pop had over 1,200 industry visitors from 30 countries.
Another central element of c/o pop is the project Europareise, a network of over 70 European and non-European festivals. Europareise will be setting camp in Stadtgarten this year, and welcoming over 12 bands from France, Scandinavia, Holland, India, Canada and Israel.

PRESS STATEMENTS ON C/O POP 2009

In it's sixth year of running, the superbly curated c/o pop, neither lost of it's pub charm nor it's independence, and with over 40 concerts, now draws more than thirty thousand visitors. Combine this with the accompanying tradeshow and conferences on offer, c/o pop has now become one of the most important trade meetings for the young, colourful creative industry.
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

c/o pop emerges from the shadows of its predecessor.
tagesschau

c/o Pop shows that there are other ways. It is now Germany's most important music fair.
Rheinische Post

No, even in it's sixth year of running, c/o pop still is not the new Popkomm. And yes, that is a compliment.
