C/O POP CONVENTION
After five days of »Pop Culture 2.0« Festival & Convention in Cologne c/o pop looks back with pride on the most successful c/o pop since its establishment in 2004.
The report on our reformatted business forum c/o pop Convention was also positive across the board. Two days of heated and controversial discussion were dedicated to the future of the music industry. The number of accredited guests and panellists increased significantly on previous years confirming that we are on the right track, even in today’s difficult climate.
With over 1200 accredited industry guests, 100 speaker & panellists from over 30 countries, 30 panels and workshops, Europareise-participants from more than 20 countries and 4 continents and finally the booked out International Matchmaking programme with participation by 18 festivals from Europe, Canada, Mexico, India, Vietnam and China the Convention exceeded all expectations and has brought c/o pop a good bit closer to its aim of turning Cologne back into one of Europe’s leading cities of music.
Audience reaction made it pretty clear that the c/o pop concept of an cross-sector business forum within the framework of an urban festival for pop culture is a winning one.

STATEMENTS 2009
This is a wonderful event. The main important thing is to talk to one another, and to have a platform that somehow serves all participants purposefully.Uli Mücke (Vice President Marketing, EMI Music)
Very familial, small, intimate. The quality of the discussions held outside of the panels: very positive, very productive.
Dominik Dreyer (Director Business Development, Universal)
I think it’s very useful to have these kinds of conventions. I think exchanging ideas at this time is a good idea.
Daniel Miller, Mute
More people have come from across Germany but also from around the world, so it is a really great atmosphere and the sun is shining, Cologne is looking beautiful.
Dominic Hodge (Associate Director, Frukt)
It’s great! It’s very entertaining and very informative, so we’re glad and happy to be here!
Duncan Freeman (President, Band Metrics)
The atmosphere is always amazing at c/o pop. I find it so lively and vibrant. Fascinating, I really like being here. c/o pop has long proven the fact that it is very important, that a lot is discussed here and great experiences made, great concerts, too. The whole mix is perfect.
Martin Lorber (Head of PR, Electronic Arts)

Only intimacy can beat the cold distance of the internet. In other words: c/o Pop itself is the answer.
